We are writing to draw your immediate and kind attention towards shocking news item that has appeared in all prominent Newspapers today and is being shown on various news channels since yesterday with Ghaziabad dateline claiming that a sex racket has been claimed to have been busted by the police and 112 people (56 love couples) have been arrested from a Hotel.
Love Commandos got a call on its helpline 09313784375 from one of such victim lovers after which we spoke the Director General of Police last night and who intervened after which the SSP Ghaziabad informed us that innocent lovers are being let off. The police acted as a tool for abetting crimes in the name of honour by verifying their names and addresses and handing over Major boys and girls to their respective parents. The police had no right to invade their privacy and encroach upon their fundamental rights as enshrined in articles 15, 19 (a), (d), and 21 of the Constitution of India. Even uncalled for detention of over hundred people for many hours is a blatant violation of Human Rights.
There is no legal bar on young lovers who are major in age from meeting in hotel rooms or even establishing relations with their sweet will. The police called photographers and picturised the females and males, so that they could be further blackmailed. The Police acted totally in violation of the standing directions of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India given in Paras 15 (14), (15), (16), (17), 17 and 19 in Criminal Appeal No. 958/2011 and hence deserves stringent punishment for abetting crimes in the name of so called Honour. The police intentionally and with malafide intensions defamed the lovers by calling them as a Sex Racket.
May we request your Honour to take a serious note of this unholy act of the police and take steps to compensate the victims of police atrocity? All Love Couples thus arrested/ detained and exposed should immediately be provided tightest possible protection cover, in the interest of the law of the land. Police all over India be refrained from making such acts in future and also directed to protect Lovers whether they have married or not. Thousands of thousands of youth are up in ager all over the country and if they decide to come out on the streets in Youth mode of direct action, one could think of the situation that may emerge. Any delay in the matter would complicate the situation all over the country and hence we request your honour to act at once.
